Interesting that a lot of Muslims are seeing The Passion lately. Middle Eastern viewers have flocked to the theaters because, “Anything Jews say is bad becomes interesting in this part of the world,” according to a Dubai film director.

As crazy as that is, I think the response to the movie of some American Muslim college students is even more bizarre. They came away from the show amazed at the similarities between Islam and Christianity. This despite the fact that don’t believe Jesus was God or even that he really was tortured and killed on the cross (they think Judas was somehow made to look like Jesus and was actually the man scourged and crucified). Becasue of the style of Aramic language, among other things, instead of making clear the wedge between Islam and Christianity, these students saw the movie as bridging the divide between the two.

You’ve got to be kidding me. Lets make something absolutely clear: The contention that Jesus is God and that He died for the sins of the world and rose again on the third day and now sits at the right hand of the Father makes Christianity immensely incompatible with any other religion. If it is true, all others are false, no matter what language they speak.
