“The heavens declare the glory of God,” the old saying goes, “but the streets declare the sinfulness of man.” That truth was abundantly clear yesterday in Fallujah, Iraq, as four Americans were killed and mutilated by a celebrating mob. It has been said that the most empirically provable doctrine of Christianity is original sin. After watching a ten year old boy put his foot through the skull of a smoldering body while others cheer him on, I’m convinced.
