PREACHING | TALK RADIO | INTERNET PUBLISHING

"If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not professing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved. To be steady on all battlefields besides is mere flight and disgrace if he flinches at that point."

Martin Luther

WEB AND PRINT PUBLISHING

The latest frontier in proclaiming a message is, of course, the internet. And the hottest thing on the internet these days is the web log, or blog.

If you are not familiar with it, a blog is an online journal. Authors post a series of entries that appear on their home page in the order they were written, the most recent appearing first. You can write whatever you want—from describing what you had for breakfast to a commentary on the latest economic trends. While many blogs do just record the daily diaries of adolescents, others are performing a more serious role in society. They are now a premier source of news and opinion. Blogging is freedom of the press at its most elementary and most personal and as such, provides Christians a great chance to proclaim the truth.

I am trying to take advantage of that. I write RunawayPlanet.com. This provides a good way to reach the once a week radio audience on a daily basis.

The goal of the site is simply to expose the lies in our culture and explain God’s truth using daily commentary on current events.

It also includes a storehouse of answers to the question “Why should I believe Christianity is true?” I provide my arguments and answers and provide links to all sorts of great apologetic internet resources.

"Blogging is changing the media world and could, I think, foment a revolution in how journalism functions in our culture. [Blogging could bring] a publishing revolution more profound than anything since the printing press." - Andrew Sullivan, NY Times journalist, whose blog, andrewsullivan.com is read by over 250,000 people monthly.
