"Runaway Planet Update - Jan 05"

This month has seen the anniversaries of two of the biggest events of the twentieth century. January 27th marked the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi extermination camp at Auschwitz by the Russians. January 22nd was the 30 year anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade supreme court decision that legalized abortion in all fifty states.

Between the holocaust perpetrated by Hitler’s legions and the holocaust that continues today in abortion clinics, tens of millions of lives have been snuffed out. Ironically, this evil was (and continues to be) executed in the name of making a “better” society.

These two examples show how deceitful the heart of man is and to what great depth we humans can bury the truth.

I think it also shows the danger of allowing lies (predominantly in the form of bad theology and false ideologies) to be disseminated without challenge. One sided public discourse is always dangerous, and this is especially true if the only side being proclaimed is false. That is why I continue to try to proclaim truth through the Runaway Planet blog.

I discussed both of the anniversaries this month. I also touched on such topics as the tsunami in Asia, the fight over teaching evolution in public schools and Time magazine’s issue long expose on happiness. I trust next month will be just as interesting.
