PREACHING | TALK RADIO | INTERNET PUBLISHING

"If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not professing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved. To be steady on all battlefields besides is mere flight and disgrace if he flinches at that point."

Martin Luther

"Ministry 24/7"

Volume 2 Issue 2    March-April, 2005

One of the inherent difficulties of a preaching and radio show ministry is that these things are event focused. Speaking engagements and radio programs happen at a specific time and a specific place and if one is not able to meet those time and place requirements, the event is missed and the ministry opportunity lost. (This problem seems especially prevalent with a Saturday afternoon timeslot—I don’t know how many people have told me “I truly intended to catch the show, but my Saturday got away from me or I just forgot, etc.”)

However, thanks to all the great technology available now, these problems are being greatly reduced. Now you can listen to sermons and radio shows whenever you want, as they are all recorded and posted online.

I have been encouraged by all the hits we have been getting on our websites and all the audio that has been downloaded, but my favorite story of its uses so far occurred a few weeks ago after we held an open forum night.

There were several non-Christians in attendance and the debate was lively. One young man sat at the back and didn’t say a thing all evening, but he seemed particularly attentive to the conversation. A week later I was informed that he had been captivated by our arguments and had since gone to the website and listened to every one of the radio shows. He then found a Bible and was in the process of reading it from cover to cover to check it out for himself. Praise God! That is why we do ministry. May God continue to use it to advance His kingdom.
